Milan need to shackle Wayne Rooney in Tuesday night's Champions League showdown against Manchester United according to Fabio Cudicini, who won the trophy in 1969.
Cudicini has fond memories of when Milan eliminated Manchester United in the 1969 semi-final. That team went on to win the trophy against Ajax, but the ex-goalkeeper knows it's a different story now.
"United the favourites? I would not swear on that," he told Sportmediaset.it.
"If Milan play with the spirit we usually have in the Champions League then we can win.
"But, [Alessandro] Nesta and Thiago Silva need to build a cage around Rooney as he is the biggest centre-forward in the world."
Cudicini has also given what he feels is beneficial advice to Leonardo.
"He [Leonardo] must take out Dida and play with Christian Abbiati as the Brazilian causes panic and he doesn't block balls. He is a constant risk."
